ASCC Communications Awards

The ASCC Awards recognise best practice in social care communication throughout the UK. The awards are a chance for all social care communicators to promote their best work.

The winner of each category wins £500 and two framed certificates - one for themselves and one for their director. There will also be a highly commended entry that will receive framed certificates.

The awards are open to everybody working in or with social care communication, so if there’s something you’re proud of let us know.

Entry is free for ASCC members, and £50 for non-members for each entry.

Categories

Publication:  If you have produced a hard copy publication that you’re proud of, send it in and you could be in the running. This could be, for example, a leaflet, newsletter or poster.

New media:  If you have produced a CD Rom, a DVD or video or have made innovative use of the internet or intranet, then this category is for you.

Campaign:  If you have run a campaign to raise awareness around a service or issue that has required different forms of communication, then this is the category to enter.

Special entry (2008):  recognises best practice in communicating information about either the personalisation agenda or about working with partners - to reflect this year’s conference theme.  Any communication channel is acceptable.

What the judges are looking for

Your entry should be well written, simply presented and meet the entry criteria. The judges will want to see that the objectives of the communication have been met and will look for factual evidence of evaluation.

During the Summer 2008 the judges will examine the entries and draw up a shortlist.

Awards presentation

The winners of each category and highly commended entries will be announced at the ASCC Annual Conference Awards Dinner.
